This is an exceptionally amazing and very controversial piece of art created by Disney for the Pastoral Symphony. Here, you see an image of the black centaurette cleaning the hoof of the white centaurette in a very submissive manner. This cel came directly after the part where she just licked the hoof of the other centaurette to polish it as she prepares for the ritual couples meeting and falling in love as we all so lovingly remember from this particular symphony.

The black centaurette was seen in the original uncensored version of Fantasia that came out in 1940 in theaters. When the film was re-released during the 1960's, she was seen as being racially offensive, and was completely deleted from all scenes. In fact, some scenes of her were actually replaced by the baby cupids instead.

This piece of the black and white centaurettes are not only an extremely rare find, I find this to being one of the most stunning displays of artistic character among any artwork that has ever been recovered from the Pastoral Symphony. The black centaurette represents not only Walt Disney's racist views on blacks, but is also an example of social views during the 1940's. She was purposely made to appear less beautiful compared to the other centaurettes with missing teeth, and postured in a very subservient manner when polishing the hoof of the white female.

This is one of the most remarkable displays of historical significance in Walt Disney's film production history, and a very important reminder of how far we have grown as a society, and to never forget our past.
